The Great Pumpkin Patch ... in Utah

This past weekend Bethanna called me with free tickets to the J&J Garden pumpkin patch, and invted Elijah and us to go. So Elijah, his friend Ty, and myself all piled into Bethanna's Burb with herself, Terryn and Skyler. We didn't think that it was going to be as cold as it was. but it was very cold. Here are some pictures of the fun time we had.

Finally its our turn to get on the hay ride and go find us our pumpkins. Elijah and Ty, are too excited as you can tell, but we had one rule. Rules were simple, if you can't carry it, you can't have it... THATS THE ONLY RULE.

We finally made it to the GREAT PUMPKIN PATCH!!!!

And here is what we came away with. You will notice, the girls, they followed the rules, nothing bigger than they could carry. HOWEVER, the boys, felt they were superman, and had to show off, and got pumpkins that were so big, I HAD TO CARRY THEM. Hence, not following rules!!!! And I know what your thinking, I still carried the pumpkins, but how do you tell these boys no. The looks in thier eyes, were like they had found the biggest pumpkins the world has ever seen. I had to give. I was kicking my self later, carrying them upstairts to be painted. Then back to the car, and of course, Ty and us all live on the second floor. So that's right, you guessed it, I carried them pumkins back up another flight of stairs, TWICE. Isn't there a saying here that fits? .... No, its not "Mom's a sucker". Its the other one, "Rules are meant to be broken". ha ha ha

Of course, now that we have the greatest pumpkins the Great Pumpkin patch has to offer, we have to paint them!!!! Here are the pictures of the pumpkin painting.

Elijah got half way through, and decided to start over. We are wiping off the paint. I did get washable paint, btw.

And of course, you all know me... I had to play too.. Here's mine.. I didn't wait long enough for the paint to dry prior to adding the glitter. Well, it ran down the pumpkin. Soooo I am telling people that this is my version The Joker, Pumpkin style.
